Xena (Warrior Princess)

On a quiet mountain of ancient Greece,

her witch-hazel hair blows in the breeze.

A body of armour worn like a glove,

leather caps protect her knees.

In the time of mythical legends,

Xena looks upon her latest conquest.

The village burns in fiery rain,

a warrior exhales a sigh of burlesque.

Her army of outlaws dance in the rain.

They raid treasures of the destitute.

Sparse possessions cherished, robbed.

Evil plays music from the flute.

Callisto lies, barely breathing;

trapped, she lay by friends and kin.

Unable to move; swearing revenge,

fury is born from deep within.

Xena, Callisto’s greatest enemy;

still plunders and slays the innocent.

Until she’s banished to a land,

in purgatory; she’s dealt her punishment.

Xena converts to become a protector,

lessons learned, in the valley of death.

She travels far to protect the innocent.

Xena’s new quest is to rid evil from earth.

Callisto and many of Xena’s enemies,

still hunt to seek revenge of old.

Something’s can’t be forsaken.

There’s carnage waiting to unfold.
