Proposal

Whilst walking and minding mine own affairs,
a lady did catch me quite unawares.
Planting a slap on my reddening face,
she called me a cad, I felt a disgrace.
I stood back and bowed, my lady I'm sure,
I meant no offence, I spoke not a word.
You sir, are a thief. I'll even the score.
You've stolen my heart, and now I'll have yours.
Forgive me dear lady, I've been so blind,
If  I'd only known, I'd not be unkind.
You are right, fair is fair, yes, I agree!
An eye for an eye, is alright by me.
I will place myself at your disposal,
when  you accept my humble proposal.

By Jove !

By Jove BY The Stove

By Jove how about this My most humble proposal? I just read it and then that word popped out to me as if it should be there, Am I correct or being too over the judgemental side. No offense taken and no offense given as you Know I just love your writes. Learn to live, learn to forgive. Life is too short.

Amusing and memorable!

This is one of those little poems that just refuse to let go of your brain! A very rib-tickling piece that has great tongue-in-cheek humor and plenty of warmth to boot! Very well done!
