NIAGARA
walking around
talking
feeling each other
bumping into shoulders
arms of each
our feet wouldnt obey
and our eyes wouldnt
let us look away
sure the falls was something
but that golden sun burning
down was filling up your
look
the highway was surrealism
of tanker trucks and rushing
hour of whatever
wind sucking out the windows
of the sedan
green sedate passing
of the old loam farmland
overrun with weeds of new
plantation track reach
brick and stucco brick and stucco
like the radials hitting all the
expansion cracks on the
four lanes
sweeping cloverleaf concrete
we speed beneath
listening to this music beat
song while your naked toes
curl against the green tint
safety glass
we wander waiting for the water
the strips of Lundy's Lane
laying lost and forlorn
waiting forever for dead lovers
the wheels spinning
and your dark hair catching
thick breezes like whirlpool foam
on green prized mystery
decedant day
incandescent
and sure
