Prelude to the March Competition

My Muse upped and left me, what can I do now?
Just because I had called her a lazy, fat cow.
(I really thought I hadn't said it out loud,
But after I did I felt sneakily proud.)

"The March competition is due, how to start?"
She said, "You've no chance, you're a boring old fart."
The theme is a sparrow;  she said "That's absurd!
You're useless without me, you talentless turd."

As she left for her mother's I put on a smile
Said "The queue for your job stretches almost a mile!"
At this lie she faltered, she'd come back to me,
But I burned my boats when I asked "PMT?"

So now I'm alone with a blank sheet of paper
I guess  I'll try winning this antique word scraper
The pen will be mine, I just know, I can tell.
An old, smelly feather stuck in an inkwell?

Cute Tam

I liked this rhyming one Tam and I only see one misspelled word and that is in line three from bottom up. The word guess just needs an extra s and I hope you are doing fine as the cow has jumped over the moon. lol see you soon love,magics02 Learn to live, learn to forgive. Life is too short.

If I were Tam the Chanter,

If I were Tam the Chanter, seeker of a muse I'd write a line or two for she who will not refuse to give you words of praise to fill the day, sing a song of sparrow's delight and winsome fey write a sonnet that will put a bee in the AEC's bonnet. In other words get on your knees and beg like heck. ;-) "If parents really would love their children there would no longer be any war." J. Krishnamurti

competition

Jayne, Thanks for the stars. You can take your time about the March competition as entries don't need to be in until August, the subject is Asparagus and the figure of speech is Alligatorical. At least I think it is. Love Ian xx
