We meet again

 Loneliness, we meet again

Under the moonlit sky

No need for an introduction

For we are quite close

As you laugh tauntingly

I watch my world shatter

Into a million pieces

The morning sun

Has not shined in days

As my smile becomes a tear

I count the broken promises

Why do I fight you?

You will always smother me

In your very arms

This time you shall be proud

Loneliness, I raise the white flag

The pain is unbearable

The emptiness can’t be filled

Have I lost my mind?

No, I will not let you win

Armies will derail my heart

But none will break my will

Paul, you too rarely post a

Paul, you too rarely post a poem, but when you do... it's kick arse... in my gut. ~Anna p.s. I would however, change a few things around. I would lose the *as* in the stanzas. *You laugh tauntingly* is infinitely stronger then. (same with *for*) "If parents really would love their children there would no longer be any war." J. Krishnamurti

The will must rule

or the feelings will destroy the spirit, break it like a chocker on a spirited animal. Regards, Mark "I do not walk the earth and eat out of dumpsters, I'm not a bum, I'm beat."

Why ?

Why is it that almost every second reading makes a poem twice as good? I await another and hope soon, bro.. Mark "I do not walk the earth and eat out of dumpsters, I'm not a bum, I'm beat."

Hi Paul,

I detect a new casualness of tone in your most recent pieces, and I like that. Stunning opening lines here: Loneliness, we meet again Under the moonlit sky No need for an introduction For we are quite close Yours, ~Nina

It a great sad right Paul. I

It a great sad right Paul. I have the want to make it have a happy ending. But I understand they are just not always to be had. Realty is very refreshing and I agree with Nina, your more recent writes have a new flavor. A little more confidence and purpose to them. With a comfort and casual feel. I would love to see one with a happy ending, but if I read enough maybe one day my friend. You deserve it. I mean your write deserves it. Both. Julie D.D.
