My Pillow Friend
I loved my pillow on my bed
Soft and comfy for my head.
It was my special pillow friend
Who stopped me going round the bend.
It helped me with my creaking bones
Eavesdropped on my rambling moans.
Propped me up when I was down
Produced a smile from a frown.
Calmed my anger, encouraged dreams
Motivated creative schemes.
A gentle friend who heard my fears
When contrite absorbed my tears.
Yes! together we had some fun
Numerous battles fought and won.
How sad I was at it’s demise
It was my comfort and my prize.
But when it’s guts came spilling out
Beyond repair without a doubt.
I simply knew this was the end
I miss my lumpy dumpy friend!
