LIGHT AND DARKNESS


 Osmotic omensleak theirinverse logic.Captured cascadesspill secret sorrowsTheir collective longingspool a vacuum of insurgency.   The need -
 Belonging. I am taken,
but not spentI am hoarded,
boarded up Yet
not a "room for rent "-I crave the light
 There! 

a crack under the door beckoning:

bask in it -
inhale the exigency of existenceshine with it -
a candle to the darknessleave with it-
live with itbe it!The one who
vanquishes the day -to banish darkness

The first stanza was a

The first stanza was a little tricky, and distant for me in view of the subject, but with the title and the rest of the poem it opened up from its abstraction enough for me to see the clever insinuations hidden there.There is an alienation and reaching toward the light of our own beliefs, and needs, that make this poem alive with deep emotional impact. I liked this for its tecknical demands. B
