Seasonal Jobs...

In distant, but told tales of truth

Brother dragons owned the land

If you must know, one was couth

And one ruled with iron-hand

White Dragon was courageous,

But his heart was cold they say

Red Dragon's soul so salacious

He could party on, for days

They fought, for controlling interest

There were grievious scars on each

Wounds upon each one's breast

Magic scales lay upon the beach

They both had need of some respite

They needed time to heal

Said a wise old bird in the night

Neither... has to kneel

Dragon Red, you love the sun

Take the summer for your own

White's icy heart is so numb

He can take the cold alone

It was for obvious reasons

Being different as day and night

They divided into two seasons

Each had his heart's delight

Red, baking in the mid-day heat

White, in frosted caves of snow

Both testing... everyone they meet

Land of Dragons...Don't you know

Don't you know?

Ann of Norway Oh you have been roving my Sir Geezer knight, roving into the land of, sh!!!!! they might hear me speaking and send the Red Dragons out to find me, then I would have to call you, dear sir, to come and slay the dragon, while I held it on a lead like a tame dog; have you seen the paintings of St George and the Dragon? Some are exactly like this with the princess holding the thread that hangs limply while the knight is charging on his horse with the lance ready, absurd. You are like that George here on Neopoets ever doing things of valour and chivalry, you deserve honours my lord. Your queen is admiring your valour yet again, good Sir Geezer.

Your admiration...

is certainly well recieved. However, I did not fight them. [I would, in your honor of course.] I was intriqued by their story though, and did wish to report that things are quiet on the plains of Dragonland once again. Whew! I have seen those paintings and they are not at all realistic. Pretty, yes. My chivalrous nature, leads me to many places here in Neoland, and every deed done, is in your name O'Queen. ~ Sir Gee

My only...

I forgot to put the line breaks in, and then after posting saw that, but I had no time to change it. Is this better? Thanks for your read, glad you liked it. Not much time before work, so will keep it short. ~ Gee

Brother Dragon...

Thank you for the read and comment, I am glad you liked it. And yes, brother dragons still lurk. Often there are those that don't see that they are better off by having half of something, than trying to take it all. They torture themselves, and others by being greedy. ~ Gee

as good a reason as any I've heard for the extreme changes in seasons... and this season the icy dragon has had enough time for me, I'm ready for the warmth. enjoyed the read. Richard

Icy dragon...

has given us all more than we deserve, this year. I'll deal with the Red dragon anytime. I'll toast marshmellows, and bathe in his torrid breath. Thanks Richard, ~ Gee

Earthquakes, tsunamis,

Earthquakes, tsunamis, blizzards and utter drought, oh my, Mother Nature plays no favourites in the land time forgot when dragons ruled. Btw, Gee did you see a couple of really good flicks called Dragonslayer and Reign of Fire? Loved 'em. ~A "If parents really would love their children there would no longer be any war." J. Mother Nature is...

at least part dragon, I'm sure! Yes. I saw both of those movies. I thought they were both very good. I think that the animation of the dragon in Dragon Slayer was remarkable. Very realistic! Thanks for the read, ~ Gee

It made me smile & smile... you jolly diplomat you... love it.

What a fab read my Gee man, loved this. Could I offer a couple of phrasing adaptation, though I do love it as it is, within each stanza I wanted to feel the rhythm more even (yes, I might well talk!!! Laugh away I know I often change the rhythm from stanza to stanza). These just struck me, feel free to completely ignore, I offer them with respect of course: Said a wise old bird with broader sight or - Said a wise old bird in the dead of night - felt like that line needed a couple of extra syllables...as with: Dragon Red, you love the sun Take the summer for your own White, with icy heart so numb \or - White's icy heart is oh so numb He can take the cold alone It's just a flow thing & tiny in comparison with the wit & wonder of your magnificent dragon poem here. It made me smile & smile... you jolly diplomat you... love it. Awesome dragons...

Seems as though everyone loves dragons, and why not? They are the coolest things ever. I toyed with the idea of making it a four dragon brotherhood, but felt it would have been too complicated. Maybe I will write another, depicting Spring and Fall. And maybe even another, with all four. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. I miss seeing you and DeMona, and think you should write something, maybe telling Killer her troubles and then Killer can go deal with it. You know he loves her, and would do anything for her. Hope the new job is still going well, talk soon, ~ Gee

i have

been so out of touch lately. The new job is going well, adjusting to life on my own now, no more training/mentoring. DeMona and I miss you and Killer just as much as you two miss us. I will take your suggestion and start working on something so that Killer understands DeMona's absence a little better. Maybe he can help her out...she loves Killer as much as he loves her as well.

The good imoogi and the bad imoogi

Neither good or bad in your tale Geezer I think. Funny thing is I relly don't consider four seasons but rather two, warm and cold seasons. I really found no rhythm in your story as every word kept me captivatd. Of course I did not find no rhythm (or breaks) either lol Thanks, Mark "I do not walk the earth and eat out of dumpsters, I'm not a bum, I'm beat."
