Misery's Gifts
Wanting to cry
But the tears don’t fall
Yearning to be saved
No such luck, my friend
Thinking I was alone
Wouldn’t you?
Hyperventilating
In paper bags
Swimming in a pool
Of sweat
Ah, the serenity
Of that pill
Breathing in clarity
Exhaling misery’s gifts
Time not passing
Racing thoughts
Having no regard
For my personal sanity
Welcome to the world
Best forgotten
One that
Internally exists
