Song of Innocent Experience.
An End Insight...Finally,finally,finally...I have put away the rings in a little navy jewelry boxOn the mantelpiece for the last time,How many more times can you leave,Without leave?
You said your goodbyes the last time I begged you to stay,You always make me feel so inadequate,You are the handsome one,You are so spiritual,so deep,so talented. When we sang together so beautifully,I said, you see we sound so wonderful together,You just snapped saying, that is what I do,My art,my talent... You,you,you...You are the centre,I am an accidental offshoot,So,why do you keep coming backOnly to want to leave again,Hurt me again,Make me feel desperate again. Well, this time you will not.The deceit will end,and with it the pain of leaving me over and over again,Now I have become strong,I know my own worth,I am liberated in my solitude,Knowing that for now, whilst I am alone,I have a choice-one day I might find the true dream,That one and only,That soulmate we all yearn to encounter.. But until he shows himself,I will rely on me,My rules,my rhythm,No more tension, unrealistic demands,Pulling, pushing, tearing at me,I will be the centre,I will be my own metronome,I like this much more...because I am free,
Free to be me.
