THE REALISATION

I cannot
          taste your lips
and not come undone
          see your eyes
and not go down
         with the sun
hold your body
          then relinquish it
back to the gods
         from whence it had come
burn to ashes
then restore my psyche into one
love and leave you casually
as if this trip to bedlam, had not begun
wipe out these memories
         as if they never happened
to await another concert
         another year, another song....

About This Poem

About the Author

Region, Country: Tip of Southern Africa, ZAF

Favorite Poets: Too many to narrow down, but briefly :, AUDEN, T.S. ELIOT, DICKENSON, RILKE, THOREAU, RUMI ... the list is endless. Am inspired by many, especially those that live lives of "quiet desperation, and go to the grave with a song still in them" (THoreau)

From the ashes indeed Espen...

This is an outcomes based idea which would transpire after being held in the fire for too long! To be flippant - 'if you can't take the heat - stay out of the kitchen~!' Thanks for the read! Boni

i shall reply again LATER

I SHALL REPLY LATER AS I HAVE TO GO OUT NOW SO WAIT FOR A WHILE TILL THEN PLEASE DO SMILE UR POETRY IS EXQUISITE AND SO I HAVE TO APPLY MY MIND BEFORE I CREDIT IT NOW i return Istan will u like to edit it before i post it suitably inmy post thank u ma'am Your Command Our minds vibrate in unison With my masters’ own, Yes, as my body shivers I can’t disown, Its ecstatic pleasures. But each day the story is the same, Excuses are simply lame Then when you are done You alight As if from an aero flight Ah! You are gone Like the rays of the receding sun Then as suns son You return again For pleasures You call out my name. I am done For such a routine life I’m neither your mistress Nor your beloved wife. How is it then I still obey your command To submit day and night Can anyone measure my plight? Today, I shall take the last flight.
