The High Road...

Checking my saddle

Giving a little push

She is outside the corral

We have waited so long

Seeming so surreal

The warmth of this moment and the day

The beat of her heart

Makes me feel alive

Girded for war with the beasts of the road

I guide her out of the yard

Leaning into the path

We merge with the wind

Monsters of kin roar by

Shouting challenges to us

Our day for that is done

But driving Miss Daisy we are not

Heading for the hills

Our getaway is near

She has her head... and mine

Twisted paths are best and needed now

I hear something calling me

Voices in my head...

I can't be going crazy

It's just someone calling me, to get up out of bed

It was all a dream

The day, the road, the sun

My horse of steel and plastic

No better steed I've had

She will be Ressurected

This year we ride again

No more wishing... we aren't dreaming

Thanks Bob...

"Leaning into the path we merge with the wind"

Ann of Norway I asked some Danish motor cycle visitors why they came to Norway on holiday; away from their flat country! They replied that the main reason was not for nature but for the bends in the roads as they loved those and there are so very many of them. But you Sir Geezer, you go to dreamland because of the wind:- "Leaning into the path We merge with the wind" That's like flying isn't it, at least the air in one's stomach takes flight for the moment you lean round a corner, how we love stimuli like that, in fact in all things. Just now they are flying through the air and round steep dangerous corners on skis in Canada at the Olympics. That's why you love it too no doubt. Your horse Sir Geezer, is mad of metal and shining like armour, ride it well and safely so that you can continue to write us your tales of valour like this one. Even if it was an imaginary one!! Yours with the roar of the motor deafening our ears and the dust flying showing your noble path, your Queen Anne

In the wind...

as bikers say. Yes, that is the reason I ride. You feel like you are flying. I so love the countryside around here, for biking. We have one of my favorite roads to ride about 8-10 miles from here, and they call it Snake Hill Rd. Hmmmmmmm... I wonder why? I like to ride it a couple of times a month. Usually on a Sat. morning. I ride it slowly, at first. Looking for sand, potholes, and lights on in houses. [They may be getting ready to go to work]. Then I go back down, and check again. Then coming up the hill, I ride as hard as I dare! I am looking forward to riding a lot this year. Hopefully, we won't have too many rainy days, although that doesn't stop me from riding, it is a pain in the ass drying out if you aren't prepared, and if you are, having to take off all your rain-gear. Ahhh, well. Thank you for the comments and the vision of those Nordic highways, my Queen, ~ Sir Gee

Most assuredly...

I will indeed, take you for a ride. I'm sure that once you guy's get your lives straightened out a little, that Jo will be wanting to get another bike. Thank you, and we will have to see about getting our stuff together, so that we can get it in shape to send to some publishers. We have edited, but need to get them in chronological order, and some kind of sense of when he/she were doing this and that. I think you know what I mean. Later ~ Gee
