Apex twin

He held my heart
in his fierce bright smiles
evocative light cascades
sheathing, golden and grand
glistening beauty
sculptured muscle
tantalizing limb.

ill cling no longer
to that fierceness

sadness falls away
when dusk steals
the warmth of kisses
for his glow lives on

she wears his blue eyes
grins happiness to me
coos and giggles
safe in my arms
sealing memories
tiny rock that's hope

what is truth?
what is lie?
is it the thing in between that is most real?
action or word?
deed or thought?

sequester seeds of doubt
for, grown into fertile soil of everything
that is glad and good........

was just an
illusion of goodbye
a gift of peace
memories
through the quiet of yesterdays moments
what maybe cold is yet balmy
it is the very giving up of hope
that breathed new life

Tender

This poem is tender and sad if the subject is what I think it is - a husband and father that died? my favorite part: sequester seeds of doubt for, grown into fertile soil of everything that is glad and good…….. was just an illusion of goodbye New words for me: pectum = hollowed chest? crepusculum = twilight? but, why not just say hollowed chest and twilight? Enjoyed. Thanks. Mona

Hey mona,thanks for reading,

Hey mona, thanks for reading, Pectum is the latin word for heart, and yes the other is dusk, Im trying out different words, i did think about keeping the english terms, but i have been reading some poetry that uses the odd word in a different language, and as latin is dying out, but also the founding base for our dialect, i thought id try it out. Its not about a father who died, its about one who left. it is not a great attempt at hope in sadness and seeing the positive. something i really need to develope : ) vix Optimism in adversity nutures positive outcomes

Just lovely...

I think it's great that you're using Latin words, like you say, it's an almost forgotten language that is our herritage. I don't know any latin. But I find a lot of words used by our poets on Neopoet may be derived from latin. I have to use my dictionary a lot, as even my computer has no explaination for some of the words used. Good practice for me to learn new words. Rosina xena465

Thanks, rosina, I put in the englis for them again, but i love latin, i did start to learn it at college but the teacher left. Its good the we have to look up things isn't it, i love learning new things and i love the fact that it makes us think more when we dont know a word vix x Optimism in adversity nutures positive outcomes
