the nine emotional lives of cats

"Goats don't grow fat on the goatherd's call."
~ Sanai

what am I to do without you in my self-imposed Gulag?
thus escape is impossible
Satan is addicted to our flesh pots and the wrong way home
is persecution in early Sanskrit
Allah is a rumour no matter how many times I circle
the Kaaba stone
"Now you see him, now you don't"
Machiavelli reads the Arthaśāstra;

you and I are loyal servants to the harshness
of choices
fate makes.

Time bites only the already dead.

Stop that. You know it’s

Stop that. You know it's not good for you. Besides it makes your eyes and nose red... or is red a good color and a blond with one blue and one (hazel?) eye. Hugs, Mum

I hope not Kal. I kinda

I hope not Kal. I kinda like the title too, and my only live-in companion now is my cat. She thinks shes a lioness and I think I'm a feline, sometimes retracting my claws. ;-) ~A

Oooooo...

wonderful! "Athough I search myself, there's always someone else I feel..." (Elton John) Ah...Love! How could anyone not love Love! I have called forth mine own death (Take me damn you!) many a time in the past for its appearance, yet it maddeningly dances away elusive- yet always there- for Love is Heaven and Heaven is a woman with an endless dipper for a man's quenching; for the sake of man and the slake of his searching may Her Kingdom come!

Ohhh ~A…Superb, tragic yet

Ohhh ~A...Superb, tragic yet hypnotising To me it sounds as if one has been full circle in the ever present abyss of life...to find simply the disappointment of truth or the wonder of it....now there's a unique question on perception lol... Super, Super lines these: you and I are loyal servants to the harshness of choices fate makes. Oh Anna you should be most proud of who you are thus far... The darkest hour is just before the dawn.... Best regards Stu :-)

YUP. I’m even writing

YUP. I'm even writing this in the darkest hour. I've gone through so many dark nights of the soul. I'm quite used to them now. So my task, as it were, is to help others to go through them. Proud? Not exactly. Just fulfilling my role. (I do, however, have an A on my costume!) Miles of Smiles, Anna

Well, I wrote poetry,

Well, I wrote poetry, Rosina. And for me that's a good day, whether or not it happens to fall on February 14th. 15th 16th... I've often said poetry is my lover... from a 2007 poem: Speak To Me Of Poetry Speak to me of Poetry I asked, my Soul answered: All That Is, Was and ever Shall Be Poetry is my tormentor, my Lover drowning me in ecstasy, near as my breath, near as the skin I'm in, unknowing who is who, Poetry is my heartless jailer, like a jealous God, never to set me free, chained to a Baobab tree the plains of the Serengeti in my golden hair, Poetry is a crack of truth breaking through my prison cell, raising me from the dead like Lazarus, through Milton's Heaven and Dante's Hell Poetry is my child's milk breath, my empty arms as they fly away, too soon, too soon, Poetry is a fist raised in anger, so full of hate and eyes so full of light, ready to slay you, slay me, Poetry is a greyhound, lying at your feet, content in the warmth of the sun, Poetry is my begging bowl, a sand mandala, brushed away by unseen hands, Poetry is a clueless life arriving from nowhere, going everywhere at once, a chaotic order of the spinning Universe, like rivers flowing, keeping secrets in hissing rocks spawned from Vesuvius Poetry is the last breath of the dying on a dirty cot in Calcutta, in a school hall in Cleveland, a blinding snowstorm on a mountain in Tibet, a sunlit hospital room in Switzerland, Poetry is the sound of ice breaking in a longing heart, a green oasis along a silk road to a Teahouse of the February Moon speaking in tongues speaking of silence, Poetry is an aria to the falling stars, and the flight of the condor, eagle and phoenix, rising in the last Poem of earth. Poetry is my name. ~A

Brilliant description of a poet...

You took the words right out of my mouth. Poetry for me, I'm sure for most, is a way of expressing in words, not bottling up the frustrations of life inside, how you're feeling. It can be so rewarding once you complete a poem and states what you want it to say. Being able to get the flow balanced is hard work for me, but if I get there in the end, it's worth it. Dear Anna, do we ever really know but for a fleeting moment?...

Dear Anna, do we ever really know but for a fleeting moment?... & yet sometimes we are knowing personified... I love your work so very much... it brings always such cascades of juicey exploration of life... I must run, I hear the hum of a car, & I haven't prepared for the architect (now that could be quite philosophical... the architect a wonderful metaphor!) Much love & appreciation for your skill & generosity beautiful woman. xxx Cheers Anni~ "To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man." ~William Shakespeare, Hamlet.

Beautiful!

Wow! Goodness... this is golden Anna. Loved the lines with Satan and Allah. So many statements boxed into a few short lines.

As I begin to write a comment a cat appears outside my window pleading to come in. Is that you? We who are inflicted with poetry Affected by it reflected with it It speaks of an, us ,we cannot show the world in any other way but words But the words themselves trap us and trip us and we know no other way. This is a poem I will return to again to read without the cat breath now on my chair... Seabhac
