a poem by my dog, Tuco, entitled: "We who wait, wait, wait" (Excerpt)
you see me
when you come
home
then you don't.
back to your life
again
again
my old toy
you gave
long ago
we played with it
every morning
night
so happy
so young
now i look at the
old toy
wondering
worried
does it feel
like an
old
toy?
forgotten and
ignored?
WHIMPER....
am i an
old
toy?
finished?
no friend?
you feed me
home
all day
alone
I shit
on the carpet
you cage me
for this!
your precious
carpet?
me?
grow up!
buy
a steam cleaner!
when you come
home
then you don't.
back to your life
again
again
my old toy
you gave
long ago
we played with it
every morning
night
so happy
so young
now i look at the
old toy
wondering
worried
does it feel
like an
old
toy?
forgotten and
ignored?
WHIMPER....
am i an
old
toy?
finished?
no friend?
you feed me
home
all day
alone
I shit
on the carpet
you cage me
for this!
your precious
carpet?
me?
grow up!
buy
a steam cleaner!
