a poem by my dog, Tuco, entitled: "We who wait, wait, wait" (Excerpt)

you see me
when you come
home
then you don't.
back to your life
again
again
my old toy
you gave
long ago
we played with it
every morning
night
so happy
so young
now i look at the
old toy
wondering
worried
does it feel
like an
old
toy?
forgotten and
ignored?
WHIMPER....
am i an
old
toy?
finished?
no friend?
you feed me
home
all day
alone
I shit
on the carpet
you cage me
for this!
your precious
carpet?
me?
grow up!
buy
a steam cleaner!

Hi Fool,

I loved this little comic relief. My dog Paco answers: You - in the bathroom again why are you so obsessed with cleanliness? I never wash You - hugging the children again why is it always them? Hug me! You - putting on your coat Are we going for a walk? Crap! You're taking the car that means you're going to work and I get to stay at home You - opening the door of the flat Finally! What took you so long? I - wagging my tail jumping nearly knocking you off balance You - scrubbing my ears patting my back Yes! You - taking my leash I - running to the door Let's walk in the snow Now Yours, ~Nina

Oh, Nina. That was a delight. Glad to meet Paco. And my dog, Miles (though in doggie heaven) answers: It's snowing again, I bet your ankle hurts (the cold & snow demons exercise their rights) when you tossed me off the deck to do my doodoo, but I waited till almost spring, and exactly where I landed, you, running towards the stairs, fell and twisted your ankle on a patch of ice just beneath the snow. I really didn't mean it. Cause it backfired. You couldn't walk without crutches for weeks. No parkway. No fun. Just remember I love you more than any other two-legged man you can ever met. ~A
