Cry for the wild

The plantive howling of the wolf,
Should tell us where we are,
The distance from its end to ours,
Is really not that far,
If thinking its a selfish cry,
We do not understand,
When it cries out it cries for us,
We live on common land,
For what we now refuse to hear,
We dont soon make amends,
We quickly learn this fact of life,
On earth our life depends.

Just lovely here

Wonderful and look forward to reading more of your stuff!! Keep up the good work. Just check up the spelling with the apostrophe's and see how it looks then. Love the wolf's cry and the loving sense here is really not too far. Magics02

Thank you for your poem. I

Thank you for your poem. I fear the day, perhaps 7 generations down, if our species lives that long, when wolves will be remembered in diorama. http://www.sevengenerationsschool.org/About.html Nice! ~A

love it! Even the rhyme, scans well and speaks well!

You say something that needs saying. Regarding apostrophes from its end to ours, [its is correct here] If thinking its a selfish cry, [its should be it's here because it is an abbreviation of it is] Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible

apostrophies

It is in the word dont should be don't and plantive should be plaintive. Also its in the line the If thinking it's a selfish cry. That sums it up better I see. You may change it, correct it or leave it and that is your choice it is still a good write. If you were to present this in your manuscript you would want to make sure there are no spelling issues. Just food for thought. peace, Magics02

Young Lady, I applaud your talent!

You've taken a touchy subject, (with many), and made it into a sensitive and enjoyable read for anyone! Great rhythm, rhyme, and all-in-all, just one heck of a good poem! Bravo!
