Syncopated Rhythm
Gravity has found favor
with the skeletal remains
of one who found "folly"
a suitable way of life.
Gone, from my horizons
are the dues that must be paid,
for the ledger has been balanced
and the air is breathable, once again.
Your sunlight overlooks the shadows
that have occupied my heart,
and lights for me, the pathway home
towards our syncopated rhythm;
for, still...was this heartbeat, that was mine
forever silenced by time's shadows,
until you taught it to steadily keep pace with my thoughts,
which, according to you.....are limited only by my imagination.
with the skeletal remains
of one who found "folly"
a suitable way of life.
Gone, from my horizons
are the dues that must be paid,
for the ledger has been balanced
and the air is breathable, once again.
Your sunlight overlooks the shadows
that have occupied my heart,
and lights for me, the pathway home
towards our syncopated rhythm;
for, still...was this heartbeat, that was mine
forever silenced by time's shadows,
until you taught it to steadily keep pace with my thoughts,
which, according to you.....are limited only by my imagination.
