leaf boats (in the rain)

storms
of dark and rain

 words sail
their hope, lost
among your words
and drifting  hours
the rain allows the light to dry
this rivulet of tears

forever now

finding you cradled
in my hearts sentence
in a searching closeness
nearer than our pressed lips
are near

as we  into  flotsam run
two children with sticks
sending  leaf boats drifting
in to gutters

of   rain puddles

your laughter follows me
in small silences
between the dark
and thunder
of  homeless earth worms
without possessions
dispossessed

in the oceans destination
where you  bind no tomorrows

and yet
how young your eyes
in their dalliance of stars

with each moments gift of birth
you part the clouds
their horizon is a sun rise
wandering with  me through the  lonely streets
(in the morning less empty)
cherished as if my arms could hold
such circles in their dream
of storms

I found the need for that

I found the need for that child like connection to make this poem live. There's somthing so disarming and real about two kids floating leaves in the street runnoff of storms. Thanks and love as always. B

life radiates out into the unknown of tomorrows.

A poem after my own heart as those leaf boats I have watched childlike in my older years, as always, their Pooh-like wonder mesmerising my thoughts into the never never land of the imagination, her where all sensations and dreams unite in the love-existence-beyond the normal. Here where you transport us with your poem so beautifully titled Leaf Boats, big sigh as all one's dreamed life is coerced into one expression, this poem, its laughter, its flotsam, its gutters, it silences and thunder, its dalliance, sunrises arms all its nuances concocting an elixir that we all wish to taste to rejuvenate our present and flash back the positive in the past. "in the oceans destination you bind no tomorrows"....................I JUST ADORE THIS BIT "In dark and rain" "such circles in their dream of storms" Here (the 2 quotes above) the beginning-rain- becomes the end of the poem where the rain makes the circles that life radiates out into the unknown of tomorrows. Need I say more dear Barry? Love as aye from your friend Ann where the pink hills lay in the morning's sunshine breathing their dawn sighs!

this rivulet of tears

this rivulet of tears (perhaps?) nearer than our pressed lips are near (works better than using close, imo) Perfect evolution of so many morning things. ;-) Love, Me

great beach theme

the intro itself is a bit cheesy. 'without possessions we are possessed' without belongings we are belonged to something? didn't get that line, maybe upossessful, or possessless maybe. a bit too many basic beach-theme words. needs a lot of work, but who am i?
