The wrench of parting

 THE WRENCH OF PARTING

And when the storm abated

and drips began to sound

their synchopated rhythm

on the sodden muddy ground

my senses felt a madness

as birds began to sing

their melancholy sadness

at the dawning of the spring

myself in mood made heavy

by lack of sleep and drudge

so that when the sun came boldly

and tried to give a nudge

it was with a deep reflection

that I dug to find a flame

and make that glad connection

that whispered your sweet name

for now departed and moved on

you will sing another song

and it won't be all that long

before you're blessed with a fine son

yet I lie here

your once loved dear

and cannot stop a tear

from coursing down my chin

when I'd rather let you in

when you upset my whole

you left a great big hole

our lives have driven us apart

its not due to lack of love but lack of art

keeping faithful to the one

and not spreading seed for fun

you'll regret you have begun

another life with yet another

understanding wife

so my tears must soon dry up

as I pick myself right up

and dress again

my body now rejected

and if I now reflected

its the same,

not changed its name

so just lean onto the window sill

and watch that big red globe

rise above the trees you love

and let nature take its course

you can get another horse

and ride away to sunsets

gold and red another day

easy to say, hard to do

when your love for him was true

but you'll have a different view

as there's someone there for me

and that is you, who?

Why yes you.

My name was called up and I had to stop

My name was called up and I had to stop, perhaps I will grace it with a new ending and even make it longer? Glad you enjoyed it, the first lines just set me off; there was someone on the other side of the waiting room with the same pigtails as me and she was an older person with even greyer hair than me!!! Thanks Indi love Ann

In all your poetry that is

In all your poetry that is shear joy in life we don't often see this meloncholy side of your poetry, but your graceful style is even more evident in this work. The first stanza is in a word sublime and the rest flows with an equal grace and lovely pathos. Beautiful Ann B

'Mercy' for you sentiments dear Barry

Perhaps we always start sublimely, well (clearing my throat!) but then the rot starts to set in, unless we are very aware of it, and as our minds search for this and that to continue, they may get tripped up in the banal and the uninteresting on the way, what do you think? It feels a bit that way as one nears the end and doesn't know what the. to put as an ending, it doesn't always come clearly then, but I surprised myself with this end, I didn't know it would end like that I just travelled on its impetus and followed my instincts; BUT here is Indi with an appeal for more of it, we shall see, yes we shall see! Thank you as aye for stopping by with your specially appreciative comment You make one feel good about ones poetry, that's a good quality to have, and many need our support here don't they, you compassionate one. My thoughts and love to you dear Barry.

My Snowlady

Not enough stars here to give you as the stars in the sky are what I send you. The birds, the love, the feelings you shared in that waiting room. I bet the doctor even wondered why you were there dear. LOL Hoping and wishing you birds of flight in the sweet moonlight.. Just wonderful you are and your writes. xoxoxo Anna a true friend here Love, Mona

so you enjoyed my make-believe tale it seems.

Oh Mona I cannot see for stars, you fair knocked me on the head with your comment, so you enjoyed my make-believe tale it seems. The Dr.perhaps wondered where my mind was as I was concentrating on writing and was woken with a bang from my reverie, nothing but a check up not serious, in fact we usually find something to laugh about!!! I won't tell here!!!!! Oh and tonight with your wishes I shall be on the back of a night bird in the skies, like Thumbelina on the swallows back flying to warmer climes-brrr we feel like doing that at the moment it so cold, because its warmer, as the damp of warmer is less comfortable strangely enough, when its really cold its dry. Much love from your friend Anna dalla Norvegia in -2%C

Ann so lovely.. Makes me

Ann so lovely.. Makes me wonder if you have a gent that has been in the wings waiting for the right time, who again has taken another mate. Not randomly spreading seed. You are so devilishly enjoyable. Making such a secret as this bloom in to art. I would love to see it expand. Wonderful appointment outcome with this one! Your friend, Julie D.D.

"so you enjoyed my make-believe tale it seems." From my comment to Mona!! So its all make believe and I haven't ever been in this situation thank goodness. Yes it is now begging to be added to, perhaps it will get awfully long, who knows! Oh, 'in the wings' sounds so romantic, that is something to think about!! Love to you D.D. from me.

Nothing captures raw emotion

Nothing captures raw emotion like loving and loss.... This poems says it all Ann. A very moving and deeply profound write... a little sweetening at the end was a nice touch and probably how we all should see love...but oh so difficult to do right.. Really nice piece Ann Best regards Stu :-)
