a childs eye

Woven by a childs eye,
I find
these threads of gold
within my heart,

and cry

as I know I must,
for you
and I

and all of us,

for all the treasures
we have lost,
for all the jewels
turned to dust.

Dear Craig

Poignantly heartbreaking ... I loved this ... dont change a thing imo its a finished piece and to change would be to decrease the impact it has now ... just my opinion ... beautifully writen kind regards Jayne-Chloe

thanks Jayne-Chloe

glad you like this modest little poem, I was, as Molly notes, trying to get something happening on a couple of fronts with this and I think it kinda hangs together reasonably ok. Thanks again for the feedback. cheers Craig

Darling,I love this poem. I

Darling, I love this poem. I am thinking of filigree and the Gold Necklaces from 500 BC that might have taken years and years to make. The tiny tiny decoration was probably made by small children with perfect eye sight. It is so wonderful that there are still gold treasures from that time to find here in Scandinavia. Many secrets concerning the manufacture of these stunning objects are now forgotten and no one can figure out how they were made. I so love your poem because it can be interpreted in several ways. Vey very beautiful Craig . Love. o molly

hej pa dej darling

yes I was thinking of those necklaces, so beautiful, I thought that children would be the only ones with eyesight good enough to do such fine work without lenses or glasses to aid them. Perhaps I'm being a bit obtuse with the connections that this poem makes but for me, although it was inspired by beautiful works of art, the treasures and jewels that are ultimately the most precious to us are always and will always be, family and people we love.
