Implosion

"Implosion"

mallet strikes
bone splitting blow
unseeing eyes
reflect
explosions
of pain
vision erupts
in starburst patterns
and shards
of splattered brain
this headache;
MIGRAINE!

Candle,

Although I have never had one, I know people who have. My brother suffers from migraines. When they occur for him he goes to bed, pulls the shades and waits. Very descriptive of this malady. Victor Claude

Hello Victor Claude

Thank you for responding to my poem. I am sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to you, but the headaches lasted for three days. I will take a look at your poetry soon. Always, Cat

So sorry to hear you suffer

So sorry to hear you suffer from these though even they are fodder for a poem. lol I suffered from Migraines my whole life up until about 5 years ago when I had a cosmic implosion, or hormones kicked off. Can't tell rightly which. Long ago, I had a boyfriend who never knew what a headache was. I wonder how he is today. My Migraine poem, Cat. http://www.neopoet.com/node/10967 ~A "What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal." Albert Pine

Dear Cat:

Dramatic description of a migraine, all the more when it colors the world views of the sufferer. Even though is sad, the poem is well crafted. I hope you feel better by this time! Sincerely, Hugo

What a beautifully descriptive poem. I do not get them , but I have to go through many of them with Jess. It hurt that I couldn't do anything to stop the pain. I feel for anyone that suffers with them. Your poems never dissappoint me Chrys

WOW, do I relate to this,

WOW, do I relate to this, knew what the poem was about from the very first line almost. Well done Cat. I used to suffer badly with migraines until a doctor friend told me to try an aspirin and a maxalon the moment you feel it coming on, then ten minutes later to take a panadol. It works for me. No more of those heavy painkillers. lol Judy

Dear Judy

I'll try that with the next one. Thanks for the recommendation. Usually I lie back in the dark meditating and try to ride it out. Nice to meet you! Always, Cat
