Lunacy Poetry and Dreams

Lunacy Poetry and Dreams

All of us are poets in our dreams.
Our similes soar like eagles
Around a metaphysical moon.
Metaphors are monsters and even mothers
Are not really matriarchic,
They are archetypes
That act like us
On our worst waking days.

And all of us are demented in our dreams.
It’s best to keep our mad self there,
To help the derangement dissipate
Before the dawn.
Sometimes you must hurry
To empty the mental pot by morning,
When insanity starts to build again
With the clanging alarm.

So there you have it.
We always knew that poetry happens
When that which is deranged
Gets arranged according to our dreams.

How this went unread for so long is beyond me. I follwed your thoughts all through the work. Very well put, good use of the language Chrys
