PAST GLORY
PAST GLORY Long ago, before the beginning of timeMan, it is said, occupied a glorious estateMan-god, in ability, he could do anythingThen he fell and lost a place in paradise As children, we basked in the reflected gloryOf our parents’ concern, love and protectionGood old days, like a dream in far away landBefore the separation and a walk out of Eden Lonely journey, this man must undertakeEach step forward in life, is a return to his sourceHis main purpose, to secure a safe homecomingAs he gropes in the dark forest of errors The lives we live fill the blank pages of lifeIn the book of man, and the book of natureWe write on them, each time, with our actionsEvery passing day we live here on earth Dwell not in glories of our forebearsWhen duty calls, take the right first stepTo that which your strength can carryLeave not the ego of self to feed on pride
