We Can All Be Time Travelers
jet lag is a cliché
just a chance to relive
the last eight or so hours
in a new reality you have
passed through so easily
this time created by
you and I but not you and I
but ancient you’s and I’s
and we can relive it
just like them and
there is immortality in it
you can do it with vodka
sure as many shots
or a plane
we can all be time travelers
warping our own narratives
to fit our destinations rhythm
if we know it
and it may all seem petty
when you emerge from
whatever portal into a
a different composition
but now you have done
what few can ever accomplish
you have lived a days hours
more than once and you
are a god amongst this throng
