Going Home

the journey home
is full of excitement
in the recollections of
what has come here to pass

and has

though I keep it all close
to my jellied memory
these last meals alone
will always be better than

what has

in solitude the thoughts
brought to me by a before
stifled mind know no precedent
in the protest of intellect

just as

the quick romances in
hostel basements and on
quiet beaches will be lost
in my own love story

that has

seemed so generous with
memories I had never owned
but rent awhile in my heavy
backpack orange with new desire

which has

brought me to the conclusion
of another adventure full
on foreigness and seeking
my old domestic pleasure
