River love
I drink your cool water
my river love
my metaphor of rivers
I go down in to your liquid baptism
into the cool caress of motion
your ripples
and timeless eddies
changing with disparities of form
languid deep channels
cut deeper then primordial stone
leaving only pebbles at my feet
I am but the dancer of your shores
the bound sailor
drinking the music of your rhythmic
lapping caress, your ages of intoxication
with the moon and sky, like Magellan
beneath the Pleiades
no hands may possess you
or eyes call you home
but once
