River love

I drink your cool water
my river love
my metaphor of rivers
I go down in to your liquid baptism
into the cool caress of motion
your ripples
and timeless eddies

changing with disparities of form
languid deep channels
cut deeper then primordial stone
leaving only pebbles at my feet
I am but the dancer of your shores
the bound sailor
drinking the  music of your rhythmic
lapping caress,  your ages of intoxication
with the moon and sky,  like Magellan
beneath the Pleiades

no hands may possess you
or eyes call you home
but once

I always say (and wrote a poem) that baptism comes 3 times in one's life.. The first time when the birth water breaks... the second time when we are reborn in Love.. the third time when we're reborn in Fire... I find there's a fourth time... when we're reborn in another's arms. Halleluyah! Which of course reminds me of my man (the only one beside you) Leonard Cohen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJTiXoMCppw ~A

Leonard is among one of the most sadly beautiful of poets, but his singing and attempted come back? Needs freshening. Like the Shrek version dear.Suzzane is my favorite. Love, and an all bran muffin. B

…And you can kiss my arse,

...And you can kiss my arse, darling. I saw Leonard this summer and if anything, his voice, his presence brought the audience, both men and women near orgasmic pleasure. At 77, half of the time he literally fluttered (crazy fool!) on and off the stage (all that was missing was his tutu!). He' alternate the other half making love to the microphone and singing on bended knees. So rich, mellow, delicious and decadent. I would have thrown him my panties if I were near enough (I was near enough to be close to him)... wait it wasn't that kind of concert! ... but I digress... It's one of those moments... in which *you had to be there*.... Love and a toasted bagel with strawberry cream cheese. ~A

You are truely the consummate romantic, but take away the crowds, the lights, the sound systems, and all the bells and whistles; and place him in the park down the street, on a cold winter day, a flurry in the grey sky, and the warmth of home calling. Would you stop and listen, not needing to throw your panties? Love, and a two egg veggie omlette, with cheese on top, whole wheat toast and coffee. Getting hungry? B

Yes. As soon as he would

Yes. As soon as he would open his mouth and I'd hear the first line of a poem, hear the melody float off his lips, I'd know I'd have to stop, no matter how cold and hungry I was. And yes, I'm starving for that two egg veggie omlette, but leave the cheese out & I prefer rye toast with seeds and coffee with cream & sugar. You cooking? ~A

Yeh I have to agree with you

Yeh I have to agree with you on some of your assesment. the cryptics are nessessary though to meld the themes together. With disparities I wanted to show the similarities of the changeabilities in human relationships and differances through the metaphor of a river. It does not imply a negative as would disparage. This is still a little raw and I hope to make it a little more reader friendly with out diluting it's meaning. Thanks T. B
