the Fire
A day will pass, without event
A week will pass, so much the same
A moment in your presence, spent
sets hopless lonliness aflame
It burns and shines the brightest light
as darkness, swiftly then recedes
The warmth and glowing last the night
as steadily the fire feeds
the kindling, all the tinder thoughts
that otherwise may leave me cold
and tie my stomach tight in knots
now burns to ash in red and gold
and you my dear, you ARE the fire
you keep me safe, and warm and sound
you're something that I deep desire,
you burn my darkness to the ground.
