Sigh

Minutes dripping quickly
from a clock that could care less

terse and tense postures
cutting all attempts at intimacy

cool crazy orb that rules the night
you're to be there for me

but you let me go away
to where the waters flow

where I'm all alone
and I constantly call your name

till finally the fever of the night
relenquishes and releases me

so I tarry to your bedside
a broken man yearning

and as I gently nudge you awake
I feel like weeping at your peace

the smile in your eyes shimmers
in the sunlight of the dawn

and I realize my great fortune
is in the comfort of your arms

I smile a wee one
as I slip beside you in the dawn

I'll never be able to explain to you
the value of this "sigh".

SIGH!

another question

So is the loved one a cat or a lady friend or a child? I am only asking because I would like to offer some suggestions but don't want to do that until I know what mr. graveyard is cuddling. Used to work nites ambulancing. I can dig the disorienting part, but maybe you can use that disorientation more effectively in the piece. Just an idea. Clarify if you want more input, otherwise, blow me off.

Yes, Nicole....

...it is a loved one, my lady 'resa. I had been up...and when Igot home...it was late, (or early in the morning)...so I was a bit weary when I put the pen to paper. I had it in my head, and it was superb.....then I got bleary-eyed. It really was but a note to her...but, she wanted it posted, so. Anyhoo, I think you have a terrific intuition about poetry, after having read your only post. I guess I should've commented there, but I got lost in the other comments. Thanks, again. Warm very warm and comfy but may I make a small suggestion the line "as I slip in beside you in the dawn" If you dropped the first "in" it might flow just a wee bit smoother Chrys

Hi doc, as Nicole was uninhibited she brings out important questions about ideas of writing. I myself as well felt underlying questions like - Where is it that the waters flow? Perhaps a key to what's going on? Anyhow I know I am guilty when it comes to "written in stone clarity" lol This is certainly a mastery, doc.
