Broken Piece

The Broken Piece

The world is a box of puzzles
Seven billion pieces across the land
She’s a piece looking to find
That spot that is just right

Some pieces wait their turn
To be snapped in place
Because without the others being there first
They’ll never find that spot of achievement

Some sit along the side of the road
Resting along the beaches
Waiting to find a place to jump in
To claim that spot that fit so nice

Among the billions of pieces
A few get broken
Hardly finding that perfect spot
While others take their turn somewhere else

So she waits and waits her chance
Realizing her spot, she jumps right in
Unsure she takes her place
Staying put though broken

This is such a lovely idea

Dear Barbara, This is such a lovely idea and so well carried out I give you all the stars and hope you find, or have found your place in the puzzle, as you fit so well just here. Love from Ann of Norway "To claim that spot that fit so nice"....except this bit ,that must perhaps be an American way of saying things I am no judge there.

Wow B, what a fresh and original idea you put togeather here.Powerfully discriptive imagery that beautiflly sends home the idea of displacement and the need to fit in and find ones place . Well done Barb.B

This is a wonderful and thoughtful piece; that is, it makes one think. I love puzzle metaphor, and you have captured it well. Yours, Deelilah

Thanks Ann, Orphani, Deelilah, everybody

I appreciate all the nice comments. This is the first place that ever made me feel at home like a piece of the puzzle that fits. I'm back to school taking my online classes and setting up my own blogger websites. A lot to learn, busy. I started selling oils and lotions to make a few dollars, not having transportation makes that hard, so I'm creating a website for that too. A lot to learn and understand. ~~~~~~~~~ If you don't like it, can't talk about it, then write about it. Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Good luck for your endeavours Barbara.

Good luck for your endeavours you sound ambitious and with a stong good health can accomplish a lot, I wish you all you can wish for, transport too eventually, but if you can manage it on the web then that's less tiring perhaps in the end. Not so nice to have to stare at the screen all day,I know its more fun meeting people and getting out, the body likes to move too, so good luck, I am with you and admire your guts. Thanks Ann

My health is not good, I'm having more and more trouble walking as the months go by and is in pain everyday. I keep doing and going because many don't realize how sick I am and pay me little attention thinking I just want attention. The story of my life. I am waiting and hoping my disability come through. Online is my only way to keep functioning because with my situation it really hard to move around normally. ~~~~~~~~~ If you don't like it, can't talk about it, then write about it. Bother the fate of illness that robs

OH this dismays me Barbara, not good, not happy, not a way to be when trying to make a living. Oh I feel for your situation and wish it to change for the better with all my heart. Bother the fate of illness that robs us of our sense of life and its finer sides, so I do admire you for managing to be so good at making poetry in this state, how debilitating, you make me feel sad for you, but with the strength of mind you show, hopefully things will turn for the better, I do so hope so. Good luck to all your endeavours and I will think of them in a positive manner in the hopes that that might help just a little anyway. Your friend Ann.
