Essence

 Essence
            

     What words do I tell you
          what phrase shall I use
     To convey  all my feelings
          and the depth of them too
     Each line that I write
          each word that I choose
     Just isn't enough
          to explain it to you

     How far the horizon
          how blue is the sea
     How long is forever
          am I really me
     Will the sun always shine
          and the stars twinkle too
     How can I tell you
          how much I love you

     You're my first thought each morning
          as I rise from my bed
     You're my last thought each evening
          as I lay down my head
     As I go through my day
          it's your face that I see
     If a song fills my heart
          it's a song you gave me

     So, how do I tell you  
          can I make your heart soar
     Can I somehow convince you
          I've never felt this before
     You and me, we're not children
          and we both know our minds
     I want to love you forever
          till the end of all time

     How long is forever
          does anyone know
     Above and beyond
          infinite.....maybe so
     You, you're the teacher
          so school me on this
     Tell me how long
          we share in this bliss

     Tell me, yes, tell me
          what future you see
     Through all of our lifetimes
          together we'll be
     For you are within me
          you've captured my soul
     The essence of Sue
          for you only....you know.
