Returned Addiction

Alcohols appearing

Self control seems to be disappearing

I’m standing in the kitchen

Find an old bottle of rum, I start twitching

I feel so eager, I’m trying to resist

Picturing it like a hot day, feeling a cool mist

And how much it can be refreshing

My thirst is just quenching

I try to resist, I’m sick of this habit

I go for a taste, so I go ahead and grab it

At first I was only a little quaking

Now it’s like, I’m completely shaking

I poor some into an old coffee mug

I start drinking it so fast, might as well be bonging it

Waking up in the living room on a rug

As the rooms spinning I realized what I have done

My addiction is back, and it’s only just begun
