P

Interval

The dark
before dawn
left me beckoning...
lured by
thick vile reckoning

The pit longs
to enthrall me
though the desolate state
should appall me
hollow emotion does call me

Soul reaches for light
yet reverie evades me this plight
yearning eclipsed with such fright

No voice to encompass my state
no solace to lesson my wait
longing for woe to abate

I got a gist

I felt the movement in this poem staggered and jerky though the pain the nameless character feels was transmitted to me and the poem ended well it made me feel as if my tongue had had a difficult work out. It can't be said to be beautiful, or truly poetic but something does engage and I think its the sense of pain and confusion the speaker is going through. Overall it fails though and isn't saved by the message. Kal
