Mind your head

They’re culling the homeless this eveningThe police will all be there of courseTo make sure that things are done fairlyWithout too much violence or forceArmed with their high powered riflesLoaded with high powered shellsWith orders to shoot anyone on their routeWho is dirty unshaven or smells They’re searching down all the back alleysTo find all the vagrants they canThey’ll blow out their brains while they’re sleepingAnd load them all up in the vanSo, take care when abroad on this eveningAnd avoid any casual dressGoing scruffily out means without any doubtYour head will end up in a mess

Language

I like the contrast you've made between the horror of the message of the poem, and the way you've made the poem quite humorous. :) I like, well done.

Well thank you young lady, I

Well thank you young lady, I try to make most of my stuff raise a little smile even when it has a serious side. John

Finally! Something to smile at!

As always, you evoke the humor in many situations, but this one smacks of some behind-the-scenes seriousness as well! Great job, as usual!

Lonnie, you are right about

Lonnie, you are right about the seriousness, from what I can make out in Rio the police are doing just this to the street kids, when you look at the world as a whole its surprising just how few countries are truly civilised. John

Shazbat - you have done it

Shazbat - you have done it again! How you can take such a dark idea and make it cunningly funny! Once again, you have raised a smirkle. Although I feel guilty for smiling at such an image you've created. -d

If smirkle goes viral I want

If smirkle goes viral I want you to remember you where you heard it, can I copyright a word ? :) But seriously, this sort of thing happens far more than we know. Glad it raised a minor smirkle. John
