Shades in the Grey (edit)

like the hands of a clock,
I watch the light
change angle,
as it moves trajectory
crossing the face of the room,
literally

it's as if the sun
is keeping time
for me,
saving me the energy
of actually looking

and when the light
goes,
with a turn
I became the silence
after the storm

watching flies
circling to their doom,
flypaper is buzzing
with a will to live

Until,
cool fingers of twilight
moved across my legs
up my torso
and to caress my face,
in each kissed breath
I am invigorated to life

I stand tall ...
darkness my friend
brought life again

for in the shade there is always
hiding,
a light of hope

I watch in the silence of Grey
inhaling threads of ether

Young Jayne

Once again a piece of complex waiting, I would rather you dance on the edge of a mountain stream drying the pebbles with your warmed speed, in haste to make a change or so not to hasten the coming dawn. Come the laughter of you as you try to hold the sun just on the horizon to cease the day in its full glory. Little one embrace the dawn each day and fill the sky as the sun with everything you are, you will lift your burdens as the sun reaches for the noon, Yours Ian.T

This is etheral

and still, quiet yet on the edge of uncomfortable - trapped. any reader can find themselves immersed in these moments and relate. on a technical note: S5 L7 "I was" this is the only place you break present tense and it ripples through the entire work causing, at least, me to double take and reread. I think It would work much more fluently as "I am" A pleasant moment ken

You magic sundial

ou magic sundial:- This makes me think of the Haïku:- "Bamboo shadows sweep the steps but no dust stirs.".............I know not who wrote this. There is a Fire lady" in the Australian Aboriginal ways keeping the fire embers alight. You are our sundial lady telling tales of the passing of time. And when you stop to see, to feel, to sense its passing you capture our attention as the shadow of your sundial crosses our minds and relates your piece of magic poetry for the day. We love it and you cannot deny it is beautiful dear Jayne. Love from Ann as ever. "inhaling ethered threads".....could you mean ethereal that is good.

Dearest Annuncia

your comments always bring with them a ray of sun to glance my sundial ... reminding me that there is life out there ... inhaling ethered threads ... I dont know that ethereal fits with the image I had in my mind but I will consider it in the edit ... much love and hugs Jayne-Chloe

Very

sincere stuff, and like Ann the last two lines were my favorite, though I think you did mean "ethereal" or "ether" probably "ether", that fits perfectly. Here you also create your own kind of poetic verbiage: "watching flies circling to their doom/flypaper is buzzing/with a will to live.." How many of us have watched that and not written it down with such abandon? Good job! GB

Dear Gb

Its summer here and no matter how much you try and keep doors closed the flies still find their way in so we have flypapers hanging from the roof, hard not to notice them when you got twenty of so flies buzzing to death on them lol it actually makes me feel bad for the little suckers lol but they are annoying ... Big Smile Ether is what I was going for and I appreciate the read love and hugs Jayne-Chloe

I like the simplicity of this

To take a simple subject and lift it into a greatness of light. I really like the last two lines. Seabhac I find it hard to keep up with your rate of writing with my rate of reading time...

loved the imagery of the movement of time tracked by the shadow

There are some extraordinarily lovely lines here Jayne, it is a work I think I will need to revisit to really appreciate the entirety (it's late & I am so weary). I loved the imagery of the movement of time tracked by the shadow of sun & moon & the silence after the storm which is so profound. Take good care Jayne. I do hope this year holds healing & all good things for you. Cheers xx Anni~ "To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man." ~William Shakespeare, Hamlet.
