Once upon a time

A distant star, unreachable desire.

Traverse the path through vibrancy,

Life-giving, deadly, yet who knows when.

Ancient wheel pinned to the heavens.

Where is thy meaning?

Knowing, hidden as dust-covered metaphor,

Entwined with ceremony, ancient and lost.

Elemental mechanics kicked away to rot.

Does Merlin weep in times dark cave?

For majesty long forgot?

Did gods once tread this stages boards?

Myth, a forgotten history. HIS-story or HER-say.

Yet now, alone we stand,

Where once. All-one we were.

A tribe, dissolved now weeps for lost roots.

Way too many questions.

One in a poem has to be handled well. the rest is trying too hard to be portentous. Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible
