Wasted Effort

Enough of it, sweet heart, stop your falderal
In the roughness of this sea, you can't sing.
The waves sing, but they are all meaningless.
Why laugh not on the wasted effort, fouled,
For it is utter confusion, fusion of absurdities,
Pettiness, 'welk' politics it is, this 'welk'
They don't serve any cause but their stomach,
Murky, thick skinned. Virtue clouded,
Arid hearts, Venom flows.  Mind ugly.
Democratic hell is built. Meaningless waves
Crashes against bleak future,
Destiny wails, Heaven burnt Hell,
'Share poverty', they say, the socialists,
'Money we share, the communists!'
Lay man is lamb's flesh the leader's food,
Every lady a strawberry.  Enjoy life,
Politician, enjoy.  Past effort now futile.
All great men forgotten.  Wasted effort.
