Words in Chains

Words in Chains

                                           Written by Tink 1/05/10

I watch helplessly
As the demons
Capture the words
Floating through my mind.

Holding them
Captive
Keeping them
From reaching my fingers.

Faceless creatures
Dark, gloomy;
Haunting.

Taunting me
With my words
Bound in chains

I can see
Their world,
Colors,
Scenes.

Feeble
Are my attempts
To rescue my words.
It’s pointless.

I reach for them.
Instead of getting closer
They are yanked
Further from my fingers.

The chains tighten;
Words gasp for air.
Shadows grow darker
I back away.

To save the words,
I will try again.

Tomorrow.

Worry not tink,

The word will come, i like this poem, very often I will be amoung a crowd or away from paper and privise and word that would make a great poem pop in my head, and no matter how hard I try to remember, they flee my mind and leave me with nothing... But the words will come back, when the mind is relacsed and not focused on writing they will come to you, just be sure to keep paper and pens handy for when thay do!! ~Rain~

Writer's block?

Dearest one, the feeling is familiar... words on the tip of the tongue (or prickling in my fingertips) and yet, and yet, they do not come... Good one, like the imagery and the perseverance foreshadowed in your last lines. You seem to have found a new easiness of (almost) rhyme lately. Yours, ~Nina
