The Goddess Of Athens

Dawn spreads across Athens
for today is a new day.
The Parthenon has been completed
 Pericles opens the Temple doors
for he is the Architect of Greece these years.
Upon his knees bowing before the great Goddess
 Athena has come home.

Inside the great Temple of the Goddess
many Greeks have gathered this morn.
A wonder for all the world to see for eternity
a new age has been born.
A high Priestess of Athena bless's the temple
and Pericles and his concubine stand proud and tall
 for Greece shall never fall.

Even Poseidon was em pressed this day
olive trees sway in the Mediterranean sun.
Mighty Zeus smiles in Olympus
as his Daughter wins the Hearts of Athens.
Pericles has a Vision for Greece
as the Orator begins his Blessing speech
all for the Goddess of Athens he will preach.

Her temple still stands the test of time
 stripped for its Antiquity
Looted and Bombed and Burned
 but the Goddess has returned.
What have they done Athena
the Great Temple in ruin and decay
For the Goddess of Athens is Rising
leading her Children into a New Day.

Anything that starts with

Anything that starts with Dawn kicks ass, JK Paul Oliva. I liked that alot, I see from the date you pulled it out for us. Thanks for sharing. Is there a reason you wanted to post this one now? I was moved, wisked away to ancient Greece. You do have a misspell, em pressed should be impressed. But I like the read none the less. Thanks, Julie D.D.
