A Cliched Story (from chat)

Did the cat get your tongue
Or are you having a hissy fit?
Stay out of my hair
but use some elbow grease
to get the door open.
Just don't let it hit you
in the ass on the way out!

Like a cat on a hot tin roof
I was walking on eggshells.
My eyes were peeled,
I was all ears and
could have heard a pin drop.
I was hot as a firecracker,
Striking like lightning,
Larger than life,
Then I came down to earth.

I was down in the dumps,
feeling lower than a snakes belly.
so low I would have to stand
on a nickle to pee on a dime.
they say money talks, but my wallet
has laryngitis.
I'll keep my eye on the ball,
Keep my shoulder to the wheel,
My nose to the grindstone,
and sooner or later
I'll be as fine as frog's hair,
Walking in high cotton
and not have to keep up with the jones.

Freakin’ brillant Paw, I

Freakin' brillant Paw, I am in awe, amazing. Cliche perfection in a funny cute story. I really enjoyed the chat with Logic. But maybe if I had showed up earlier I could have let you rub off on me a little more. I am sitting next to you in class! :-) Not only was it hilarous, it flowed. I had to start breathing before I could even type. You had me laughing so hard. You remember me kidding you about your next book being a comedy. Well its not a good joke any more, it just might come true. *LMAOROFL* I can't hug you, I am still holding my sides. *G* JK Julie D.D.

Rett, I wanted to comment on your signature line. I really like it... I think we've sacrificed liberty for security since 9/11 and it's only getting worse. Annah ;-)

smiling here ...

What a great way to use cliche. It is amazing the outcome when they are all combined together. This piece is so entertaining and worth reading. Well done sir. I am pleased to have stumbled in on this one today. "I'll be as fine as a frog's hair walking in high cotton" Oh what an image that conjures. *smile* Well done. ~Pamela

"lower than a snake's belly" ?? LOL! New one on me. Definitely had a good laugh, as you had some good classics in there - including my fav - pissing on a nickle to make a dime. ~Jess K. ----------------------- "Life is the sun, and the show must go on; make it come true. There is one down here even worse than that. I feel so low, I'd have to stand on a ladder to tickle a snakes belly. Respectfully, Rett: “Anyone who sacrifices liberty for security deserves neither.” Benjamin Franklin

It seems as though cliches

It seems as though cliches are regional. Many I've never heard before. Pardon me, I just happen to be madder than a hornet's nest and I'm mad enough to spit wooden nickles from my mouth. (what IS that?) I like the snake ones, Rett. Do you use a stool to milk 'em? lol. ~A

We don't go that far. We do hunt Mosquitoes with 12 gauge shotguns though. *tongue in cheek) Sometimes people are just a whoop and a Hollow away or madder than a wet hen or mad enough to chew iron and spit nails. Sometimes we get busier than a 3 legged cat with diarrhea. *L* Respectfully, Rett: “Anyone who sacrifices liberty for security deserves neither.” Benjamin Franklin

Dear Rett

This is positively genius. Who could even imagine how much cliche we use all the time. But you have put them together in such an entertaining piece, and it seemed to flow so easily. I could not have thought of all those sayings, I don't think. The southern vernacular (natural to you) is especially fun for mem too. Now, on a different note: How'd you like the MA election results? Hoo hooo hooooee! Always, Deelilah
