POLICE STATEMENT   II   Another also reported his case Of masquerade harassment During a festive season of the year At the veranda of Mr. Jonathan Kids were making a roofing mat When suddenly, Ekpo appeared The children ran inside the house Ekpo broke the door, the kids fainted   As simple as this case might seem A challenge, it was, to the plaintiff Who could not speak in English On a case which brought tension So he threatened to fight the police Who supposed to take up his case You needed to see the confusion And the pandemonium that followed   As narrated by my good friend Who was right there at the scene Ndito children eke break nkanya Ke esa Jonathan Ekpo daak, ntukenyen e run E enter the house Ekpo break the door Ntukeyen e dies   The police officer on duty Was from other ethnic group He asked what he was talking about The man showed his hands and feet One by one, on hearing the word, what? Frustrated, he exploded in anger Awot wot nso ke esa Jonathan Awot uso, awot uka   What are you showing me At the veranda of Jonathan Are you showing me your father? Are you showing me your mother? His perception of the word, what Meant to show, in his native tongue So hearing this from the policeman Infuriated him and made him vex

Your works, I have spoken of how much I love them

May I suggest you check out the works of R.M.Shanmugam. One of you could perhaps be a bit more concise, another sometimes leaves undue ambiguities in concision. Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible

Thank you for the stars...

I have read some of his early works, in any case, I will read more of his works. Sometime to present a work that has cultural boundary as well as language limitations could be a bit challenging. Thanks and best wishes. T.
