A Vision in the Dreamtime

For weeks
I have been followed,
they mirror
my every move ...

and now
I'm dreaming them

they drifted in
and separated me
from my bed,
whisking me from my sheets
they fly me,
to curl the other place

soaring on dreams
brushing just enough to touch,
my feet stroll medieval turrets
and like walking ripples
across a lake, I glide

I swept my hand through stars
that floated in fingers of memory
all held,
in a gondola of wings

(dragonflies,
big as dragons)

they call me in wimples
serenade me to cathedrals
within canopy's of weeping willows,
I am gobsmacked
in their phantasmic enchantments
that undulate vapoured mist,
with feeling

(I'm mesmerized
and burning)

as I,
sucked into vortexes of spinning visions,
and splayed out on magenta clouds,
leaning over
I tore it off,
like cotton balls
and floated it to play
on whiskers of wind

and when sliding over
this light phantastic,
winged cavaliers cradle me

and feather me back to earth ...

I awoke to curtains
dancing through mosaics of light,
transforming to spread wings
and lay lace wreaths
over the arms of time

but in the reality of dimension,
in the unknown that is the surreal
swaddled in the wings of a dragonfly,

I'm whispering sleep
to the Dreamtime

Out of the mist came the kangaroos,

Out of the mist came the kangaroos, the spirits of the dreamtime, and whispered of things unknown to you and yet you versed their thoughts and in theatrical splendour swaddle your visions for us to see, to feel and to experience, you take our breath and feed it to the winds and doing so we relate to your concerns and celebrate your safe returns. We do sweet lady of the Australia's where the red red sand blows patterns in the sky of past gods and demons, flying high and with their rocky crevices decorated with their ancient wisdom educate our minds so that when we feel their story being told within ourselves we be prepared and take the oars of life's boat and steer straight on to where we all belong. "as I sucked" a comma after -I ? I saw phytoplancton particles in the North sea, going for a midnight bathe at midnight(!) with my, then, boyfriend Andrew, we sneaked out of our tents and made for the beach just the other side of the sand dunes, and swam in the nature (!), beneath the lighthouse in the black waters, just off the coast near Lossiemouth, the Moray firth, and there at every sweep of the hands were thousands of tiny lighted particles, the cells of the above named plankton like stirring the Milky Way how we loved that, at 16 and 21 years old!!!! Magic, your line reminded me of this Jayne:- "I swept my hand through stars
that floated in fingers of memory
 all held,
" Love to you you starry dreamer Ann

I Too Thought...

of the photoplankton that glows when disturbed. I've only heard about it, but the image was so strong, when I read your words, that I could see it clearly. You evoke such visions with your work, that I can imagine things that I have never seen! Waking to curtains dancing through mosaics of light and turning into wings, is the genius of the mind of Jayne 'the dragon'. Awesome! Love and higgest hugs, ~ Gee

I suppose I do have those

I suppose I do have those types of dreams. I never have the wherewithal to write them down though. I have to say my favorite spot (among many), is here: leaning over I tore it off, like cotton balls and floated it to play I can picture you motioning the clouds away like you would a little kid.. It's a great image.. I liked how you "floated it to play". I remember when I was a kid imagining clouds as cotton candy and wishing I could be in a plane so I could tear some off and eat it :) -d

Deliciously enchanting

How beautifully you write on one of my favorite subjects. I love dragonflies and have many in my garden in the summer circling around the Koi ponds. When reading this beautiful poem, the shift in tense caused me to stumble a bit because I wanted to keep reading in the same tense. Perhaps - a suggestion might be ***** For weeks I have been followed, they mirror my every move ... and now, I dream them. They drift in, separate me from my bed whisk me from my sheets - they fly me to curl the other place; soar on dreams brush just enough to touch. My feet stroll medieval turrets and like walking ripples across a lake I glide. My hand sweeps through stars ***** and go from there. NOW THIS: "they call me in wimples serenade me to cathedrals within canopy’s of weeping willows, I am gobsmacked in their phantasmic enchantments that undulate vapoured mist, with feeling" Oh oh oh oh oh - I loved those lines. I melted within them, finding a favorite word in "gobsmacked". Deliciously enchanting as all dragonflies are and will always be. Over all - this is creative and wonderful poetry, and it sings of things more precious. Life that flutters, of fairies and butterflies, of gardens and dragonflies ... and then we feather with you back to earth. A beautiful journey to love and cherish in verse forever. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope my thoughts have been positive and helpful. ~Pamela
