IF ONLY I COULD PAINT

If only I could paint  those spoken words,
Of a beautiful picture, with a singing bird.

A painting so bright,  so full of color,
The lights of love with many their wonder.

The painting I hold is close in my hands,
White color of pearls, the red rose stands..

Colors of truth, softened shades of blue
A picture of words I paint  for you.

If only I could paint these spoken words
Soften my paint brush, the colors I heard

My canvas would sing a million words
Of a beautiful picture, and the singing bird.

For the colors of love are soft to paint,
Pure as the snow,  peaceful a saint.

My painting has brushed a thousand words
Memories of loved ones, long ago heard.

My canvas to come alive, full of light.
For I shall hold you there,  forever so tight.

May the beauty of words I have painted today
My canvas, my light, my love...on display.

Oh lovely your singing bird

And YOU CAN paint as you have done so with these words so beautifully that we can hear and see and feel them in their pastel gentle colours, like a flower you spring up here and bloom for us, magic moments in poetry. Pearl colours with the red rose, oh what a beautiful strong passionate contrast, I love it. "My canvas comes alive and full of light." ( just for the rhythm do you need 'comes' here?) "For the colours of love are softly to paint," ( are soft to paint ?or softly painted?) Mona the magic lady brightens the page and makes me send her my love, Ann of Norway.

Anna Oh Sweet Anna

There's a lady I know who writes of the snow... Of a place far away, a seat close to me... She is lovely oh how she writes so beautifully.. I still see the picture of the snow out her window.. as she peddles her legs, for she is fit you see... For she sits so close to faraway me... To my lady from Norway a place I have never seen, I thank you for your comments upon my screen. As you know of the birds and the paintings I paint I also picture you so pretty and quaint. Thank you lady snow, my sweet Anna A Happy New Year to you from Florida..I send you warmth and happiness as you peddle on your treadmill... Love of Magic in the air.. xoxoxoxoxoxo

A picture painted

May this be love? A wonderful variation of the words to canvas art. A difficult endeavor as I find image to words easy (maybe the easy way out ;) nice nice, Mark "some things change, some things do not"

Thank you Mark for commenting and you say is this love, and I did not think of it but when I think of it now, it could be in a sense since love of feelings, art and pictures of it..how do you paint that picture..I hope your doing fine and look forward to your writes as I love them also.. Hello my favourite cookie dealer ;)

I like this poem very much, and I think it's a wonderful idea to compare visual art to poetry (in a way, poetry IS visual). I have a few little ideas how to finetune this: If only I could paint those spoken words, I'd paint pictures with lively singing birds. A painting so bright, so full of color, Love's light displayed in technicolor. The painting I dream is close to my hands, White color of pearls, my red rose stands... Colors of truth soften shades of blue A picture of words I paint for you. If only I could paint those spoken words They soften my brush, those colors I heard My canvas would sing a million words Of pictures with lively singing birds. For the colors of love are soft to paint, Pure as the snow, peaceful the Saint. My painting has brushed a thousand words Memories of loved ones, long ago heard. My canvas comes alive and full of light, For I shall hold you there, forever so tight. May the beauty of words I have painted today My canvas, my light and my love stay on display. Hope you can see what I'm trying to get at... and don't forget: It's ultimately up to you what you change - or not. Yours, ~Nina

If only I could paint

Mona Of course you can paint You let the colours of the paint fall from the pen/brush held in your hand to fall upon the page creating such visions of beauty Always Electric Blue
