Scattered Notes on the Scale of Life
Ever, so carefully I'm watching my step
so as not, to bruise the music,
that is within you.
What a symphony I hear
whenever you allow my ear
to gently greet your voice.
The cadence that you use
along with your way of phrasing,
always seems to be different;
and your syncapated-staccato
is your underlying mood, as it were
or the rythm, which combines to keep the song, "fresh".
I'm so elated
that you would invite me to join you in a duet,
at this particular time of your life;
and I will learn all of the words,
and I promise to study all of the harmonies,
and search for the sweetest of melodies,
so, as to accompany you, correctly.
Also, I will keep a watchful eye out
for music traps, where errors can take place.
Causing some to believe in the theory
that if a sour note is hit, deliberately hit it again, in a measure,
and it's no longer an accident...or a mistake.
The problem with such a theory is that, the music's completely ruined, afterwards;
so, I'll watch out for that sort of thing,
as well as be watching you.....and what you'll be singing, next.
so as not, to bruise the music,
that is within you.
What a symphony I hear
