'Twas the Week After Christmas...

'Twas the week after Christmas
some faces were sad,
every creature that stirred
had forgot all they had;

dazzled by possibilities
of what could happen,
dulled by the reality
as it appeared, once again;

what wasn't considered
was what was still there,
you felt, but couldn't see
all the magic in the air !

The dream that was Christmas
had lulled all to sleep,
and it appeared to all
there were still promises to keep;

and all were awakening
with requests on their minds,
not to mention regrets
for not being so kind.

For what was forgotten
was how many were blessed,
and the smiles on those faces
killed the frowns of the rest.

For, for sure it was their time
the others had to recall,
that they were probably remembered
when they were quite small;

had the others forgotten
Christmas is showing you care?
And that the magic of Christmas
most assuredly's still there !
