She’s Gone

She’s Gone

She walked alone
Darkness
By Night
Darkness
By Day
Love broken

Pain
Tears
Heart
Sleep
Eternal

He walked alone
Darkness
By Night
Darkness
By Day

Remembering
By Day
The Times
Togetherness
No more

Truth of love
Removed
Stand
Alone
Special place

Thanks for the suggestion. I totally agree. I had it that way but somehow change it in the revision. I am working on a new style of writing. This is the first of many I will write before I get the form I am striving for down. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

has the air of profundity, Barbara

only question the line Love once true has the ring of cliche. not sure what to suggest. Maybe Truth of love Removed just a thought. Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible

Profundity

Thanks, I like your suggestion. I wanna think on it a bit to see how truth of love flow in my mind. It take a little time for things to sink into my poetic eye. I took the cliche out while I meditate on this great line. I have learned the meaning of lots of words from you since coming here. Mostly because you use them to describe me. *S* profundity-- I like. It is interesting you use this word because I just tonight learn what it means to write poetry using single words to describe an event, something, or someone while trying to understand postmodern writing. This is my first attempt though it may not be postmodern. I took something simple as two people separated and make it more dramatic by letting her die. Then allow him to realize after her death that she was his true love or the truth of love. Glad it turned out okay. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

it turned out better than ok, it's great.

Once I was your mentor, now I choose to read you as a poet. No, it is not postmodern. The classic postmodern line about love is from Umberto Eco (who is very worth reading, unlike most postmodern theorists he is friendly and generous, not verbose and obscure)- "I love you madly" he said self-consciously. Read anything by Eco, his novel "The Name Of The Rose" gives the best definition of semiology I have ever read. "The Truth About The Truth" edited by Walter Anderson is a collection of essays that gives insight into every aspect of postmodernism. Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible

Thanks for the great

You reading me as a poet rather than a student makes me overwhelmingly grateful. I remember you saying I provoke you with my bad grammar *S*. My grammar is getting easier to remember now. I couldn't have ask for a better mentor. I will read more of Eco and Walter Anderson. I may not be your protege any more but I'm still learning -- verbose and obscure still broading my vocabulary. ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara

Dear Barbara

A charmingly concise little tale, so complete. This is good Barbara, I specially liked the way you made the days repeat themselves giving the feeling of time going by. Love Ann of Norway.

your words

Stark and harsh, just as a break-up is. Brutal! one person freeing themselves and another left wrecked. It got to me!

Thanks for reading and commenting. Poetry/prose--i am happy you noticed it because I want to familiarize myself with prose. I guess my interest in prose has crept into this poem. A good thing. Yes life, getting on with it is the best way to heal I suppose. lol xx ~~~~~~~~~ Be whoever you are At all times, and Remember that Because of this, people will Always Respect, and Admire you ©2008Leonard Respectfully Yours, Barbara
