A fine martini of a poem , perhaps an introductory to a longer piece on the bar - room bosom buddies we all know. "Drink to me only with thine eyes......". Yours Ian

Boni,

how funny is this, I was just commenting on your "woman's ashram" while you were commenting here. Great minds think alike :) Do share your own "shaken, not stirred" poem. Debbi (tink) is to blame for this one, she challenged me to write a poem with these words. Yours, ~Nina

Woman, you'd drive any many to drink. lol. Thanks a lot Ian, now I can't get that song out of my head! Hugs. p.s. Over my son's now, leaving this afternoon. Hopefully, we'll stay one step in front of the inclement weather forecast. Don’t let your victories go to your head, or your failures go to your heart.

Richard,

lack of will power... hope it wasn't my poem that did it? Anyhow, blame everything on me and the bad influence I am having on you, dear moonman ;) Yours, ~Nina

blame

Nina I tried to blame everything on you too, but my wife don't buy it. she asked how an Irish pop group could be a bad influence. I said it was because the singer was named after a dog biscuit and I think I might have got away with it! Yours Sanity Clause xx

Dear Nina

My grandmother would say, "Now you're off to the races!" This is a sexy little number. I had never heard of veratrine - a poison no less. Thank you for the new word. There are some terrific lines in this peom - in fact, it would be much easier to list only the good lines. Easily five stars for nerve and craftsmanship. Brian

What a piece

you always write with a touch of eclat and professionality. You are true genious with command over the language. The lines were short but yet talking.Perfect imagery and diction.

This poem, though simple in its form, exemplifies what I prize so much in any poetic work, and that is the layered duality of meaning, expressed in the metaphor.Adding to that, it has another aspect that I treasure, and that is simplicity of form that conveys on its own, the layered complexity within. A stark kick in the ass piece of work worthy of the Dragons ink. Barry ...o..

Thank you, Anni,

you are missed here, too. Keeping my fingers crossed for a great new year, and for more Neo time for both of us. (Have only been really "back" for a week, since the holidays started, and will have to work again from next week, busy January is coming up...) Yours, ~Nina
