Three Cluey Blokes

I had wandered a path
and followed a star
traveling northwards
it was quite bizarre

this will inside
was not my own
but something foreign
ill have you know

I finally rested
at a palms broad feet
wiped off my face
the night I did greet

far into the darkness
a stable was lit
then I knew
stars had brought me to this

for a god made flesh
was right there inside
only just born
with Gabriel beside

there on a hill
three men did appear
on camels they traveled
without any fear

Magi had come
to honour the birth
down from their camels
their feet touched the earth

the first of the men
approached in awe
sat down offerings
of gold and myrrh

the third of the gifts
frankincense's the air
for it was presented
with a humble flair

Gold for the king
of all time
Frankincense'd
priestly he is divine

finally they laid down
the urn of myrrh
for a sacrifice was made
of that I am sure

Like I always say...

You're not late, just a little behind. I knew that the Christmas spirit wouldn't desert you. It just had to keep poking at you to get you moving. A wonderful write, that says we need to stop and look at the spirit of the holiday. It is about the gift that we were given, not the gifts we give. Hope that your Christmas was as good as you deserve. [Ha, Ha, yours is over, and mine is still to come.] P.S. Did Snake give you a motorcycle for Christmas? I know he...I mean you want one. LOL I just saw one of those commercials that shows some guy giving his wife some new power tools for Christmas. She says Aw honey, you shouldn't have, and you see her thinking about the things she can do with them, while he is thinking about what he can do with them. Funny! Love and higgest bugs, from me and mine, ~ Jason had to leave a special hello from him. ~ Gee

What sort of spirit? lol.

Just joking, although, the cowboy was tasty. I enjoyed this poem, I was a little singing angel many, many years ago, in the choir for a play about this at school. You hear nothing about this now. Lovely. XX

Lol love the title name!

Three cluey blokes.... could three well off pissed up geezers with the spirit they helped make over the centuries! They came tumbling out of a barn with huge skins of wine and mead and came across a stable with a new born in it... and because of all the spirits they had drunk they were very merry and thought well here you go Mary and Joe have these gifts on us! So here end the ballad of the three cluey blokes who gave us christmas spirit, the idea of giving gifts and the term Merry Christmas! lol! Sorry Jayne not meaning to have a go at the religious implications here just a happy go lukcy view of the season. This is really good and a good take on the story from a slightly different view... you could make a nativity screen play from your write here. Well worded and just right for the festive season too! Bravo... take it to the stage... and then take a bow! Dale :)
