arigato gozaimashita

a thousand years
have I dangled on the edge,
suspended in irony

the roses sleep
in Winter's branch.
dream their rosey dreams

mother sleeps
in cozy den,
stars buzz like bees

the longest night
above the minaret
prayers fall from the sky

sleeping on the sidewalk
who will give away their
favourite pillow and blanket?

dawn breaks with icy breath,
lingers with the scent
of green papayas

a sigh
is an expression
the heart makes
when it has nothing more
to say

sip;

for what sweeter draught may pass the lips than the sigh of passion's heart! Merry Christmas to you!
