The Expected

Second chances filled with wishes of  being among the living
Yet how daunting, all the “un-wanting” ever ready for the giving
Hesitating, not just waiting to live a remarkable, inspired life
To take on the role of self-fulfilled, successful mother and wife
If only to see, what becomes of me, that it was not who I was
I did what I did as I was expected to do, but only just because
So am I to seal a moment of fate with this expected and eternal gloom
Perhaps it is best to put time to the test and see if my future has room

I hear exactly what you are saying,

so it is written well. But ask yourself, what does it give to others beyond those who might relate? That might explain why it went so long without comment. Cheers, Jess, reprehensibly irrepressible
