The Whisperings of Greed

Whispering through the shadows
is a sin we all must heed,
I'm speaking of not getting enough
so the entity is, greed.

At first, one may deny it
but, with all you say and do,
it may appear you've a generous reason
but, it's really just all about, you !

The ironic thing about this topic
is, it involves some gluttony,
they want more than is their need,
in fact they want enough for, three.

There's no getting around it
it's a very selfish sort of thing,
to want so much that it doesn't matter
the greedy have their own song to sing.

No, the glutton is a bit more Innocent
for his life just goes, awry;
piling on to what one needs not
'til it's so much that he finally does die !

The shadows play their mind tricks
until each demon has been freed,
but, there's no sin more disheartening
than the deadly sin that's known as.....greed.
